Grant Workshop for Veteran Farmers--Boalsburg

Registration closes Saturday, Sept. 10 at 11 am

Veterans/spouses only grant writing workshops--not open to the general public. 

This workshop is for for-profit farms or farmsteads planning on beginning sales in the next year. We will focus on competitive funding opportunities.  We will not be covering grants for non-profits at these workshops.  

Agenda:

1. Overview of open and projected grants for veteran farmers
2. Reading between the lines of a grant application/suggestions from the reviewer's perspective
3. Interactive discussion of the grants attendees are preparing to apply for. Bring a draft application/proposal that you'd like to improve.

• John Nolan 2022 Barn Safety Mini-grant: Due September 8  
• Horizon Farm Credit Farmers on the Rise Awards-- Due September 30  
• NE SARE Farmer Grants  Open Oct. 1-November 15
•  Dairy Excellence Grant  Opens Sept. 1, closes Sept. 30; 50% match Dairy Decisions Consultant Grants  Opens Sept. 1, closes Sept. 30; up to $4000 to work w/ a consultant; open to goat milk producers as well.  Other dairy-related grants here.
•  Value Added Producer Grants--will open next year, but as this is an extensive application, start preparing now.
