Garret Love will discuss Pyma Love Farm's third generation Angus beef operation.
Jody Lasko, NRCS District Conservationist, will share updates on conservation programming for farms and lead a field walk of installed BMPs: covered manure storage, animal heavy use area. Speak with Jody over lunch about how you can work with your local NRCS staff on conservation planning and funding on your farm.
Ben Buchanan will share details on the soon-to-be operational Unified Fields Harvesting mobile meat processing. While mobile processing has proven to be challenge to sustain financially nationwide, Ben's innovative custom processing model shows great promise. Once up and running, he'll provide a desperately needed option for NW pa meat producers. Ben will share the business model he believes others can successfully replicate.
Tentative: Riparian buffer funding program for farms.
